Vedanta Sutra is absolutely fascinating, and one day I hope to present the whole text. For now, however, I can at least present the first dozen sutras.
Spiritual Questions

athātho brahma-jijñāsā
So now we must inquire about our origin…

janmādy-asya yataḥ
…the origin of all things.
Where to find Answers

śāstra yonitvāt
The authoritative texts are the mother [of the answers to these questions]…

tat tu samanvayāt
…but only when considered with all intellect.

īkṣate-nāśabdam
We cannot see the answer in the texts alone, but also we cannot see the answer without the sacred texts.

gaunaś-cen nātmaśabdāt
We cannot comprehend the qualities of the soul simply by hearing the word “soul”…
7
tan-niṣṭhasya mokṣopadeśāt
…But by determined effort we can be enlightened by such words and instructions.

heyatvāvacañāś-ca
And so we are never told to abandon them.
9
svāpyāt
[These answers are] self-attained; yet not entirely…
10
gati-sāmānyāt
…are identical to their goal…
11
śrutatvāc-ca
…and are assisted by hearing the sacred texts.
What is the Origin?

ānanda-mayo `bhyāsāt
Repeatedly we are told: it is bliss itself.
